My first paid gig as a videographer was during college around 2001 filming a talent show and selling VHS copies. In 2005, Keith Micheal Productions was officially created. I still remember the first couple that I ever met with at the Starbucks in Fairfield on Blackrock Turnpike. I was young and nervous, but they trusted me, and they were my first wedding that I recorded for my own company.
Since then I have recorded hundreds of wedding videos, countless hours of video files on my hard drives and before that on MiniDV tapes. I have gone through several cameras, and microphones, and lights, SD cards, and lots of batteries. Thousands of miles driven from Long Island to RI to Maine and the tip of New Hampshire. Early mornings, and late nights, and long days. I have worked for myself, for friends, and for other companies. And except for a small handful of clients, lots of great weddings.
In 2024, I have decided to hand on the up the cameras. This has always been a side gig for me, and one that I loved. Before we had kids, this was a great side job. And even when the kids were young, it was still a good thing to have. But now my kids are growing in age and in number. Weddings take me away from their events and their lives that I want to be a part of. I really do enjoy recording weddings. I would like to think that after 19 years, I've gotten pretty good at it. But what I really want to be good at is being a dad that is at all the baseball games, and concerts, and other events as they come up.
I want to thank each an every couple that has trusted me with their special day. It truly was an honor. Some of you I still see on Facebook and it is great to see your families grow.
I have 5 weddings left to shoot in 2024, and then that will mark the end of nearly 20 years of KEITH MICHAEL PRODUCTIONS. At the end of this year, this website will go offline and the business email address will no longer exist. This has not been easy decision to come to, but now that I have made it, I am at peace with it.
